August 2007, We didn’t know what to expect with our trip to Slovakia but we soon fell in love with the land and the people while touring with you and Mariana. Your deep well of patience with our ambitious goals was appreciated and your skills in genealogical research rivaled Sherlock Holmes. It was a life changing experience. We miss Mariana’s laughter and good sprits and the only regret was leaving. Any potential customers can contact us directly for references.
The day tour of Domica Cave and Betliar (manor house) was a great combination and offered a nice look at the scenic countryside. Kosice is a lovely city and just the right size to use as a base for day trips. Next year we hope to come back and see more of the wooden churches and unique folk architecture to the North with you.

The Genealogy of Byzantine Reverends in Eastern Slovakia from 1600 - 2007

WELCOME to www.cisarik.com . . . My name is Juraj Čisárik /40/, I live in Košice in Slovakia. I have published a second edition of the book on the genealogy of Byzantine priests in Slovakia from 1600-2006. After my 10-year research I have netted information on more than 842 priests and their 7,500 relatives. They are all genealogicaly conected to each other. It is the 2nd edition (c) 2006. The size: 30x21cm, the weight: 2kg, 600 pages. It is written in English-Slovak languages and it has more than 200 ancient photos. Every book has its own different EX-LIBRIS page according to the next owner (with his tree of ANCESTORS). The book is made non-serial, always after ordering. The book has a hard book-binding. click to preview of the book

Biography of Juraj Cisarik,
. . . Juraj (pronounced like Your-eye) Cisarik got his degree in Mechanical Engineering from Technical University in Kosice. He has always had a passion for Eastern European history. His knowledge of old Slavonic language comes from his studies with local priests and parishes. Juraj developed an interest in Geneology when researching his own Byzantine family history in the early 1600s. Now he specializes in records and ancestral searches. He speaks Slovak, English, Polish, Czech, Rusyn and has an excellent working knowledge of Hungarian place names and old Slavonic folk customs. His easy-going, patient style allows him to work well with local officials and priests where diplomacy is a key skill. He has arranged many reunions of slovak families with their missing family members from the USA, Canada, England, Italy, and France.
. . . During college, Juraj and his wife Mariana spent one of their summers working in London, England to refine their knowledge of English language and culture. The pair enjoys tramping (hiking and camping) across Europe. Juraj also enjoys acrylic painting, singing, cooking, and printing. He publishes a large volume of ancestral records of Eastern Slovakia´s Greek Catholic family lines, traced through the priests of that region. Juraj and Mariana have two young sons and live in Kosice (Co-sheets-say), Slovakia´s second largest city, and an excellent starting point for trips to the High Tatras, the Slovak Paradise, Krasna Horka, Domica cave and the Karst (caves) region.
. . . When two interpreters and drivers are needed for family reunions, weddings and for larger group tours Mariana and Juraj work together to bring you a fun and personalized experience.
. . . a lit of bit humour:

. . . a little bit of humour:
When Your-eye (pronounced like Juraj) visited the Spis Castle, the ghosts of the castle changed his picture in his camera

something about my ancestors: many byzantine catholic reverends named as Cisarik came from
the small rusyn village named as Andrejova in Bardejov area for the period (1550-1950).
In Andrejova priests and cantors had surname Cisarik and it was happened
for many generations from father to son. Below there is a document about one of my ancestors from 1769:
